AT&T service restores after hours-long outage affects Tenn. school districts

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – After an hours-long AT&T outage that affected both Williamson and Robertson County Schools, the company says the issue began restoring about 3 p.m. Monday.

“Service is restoring for business voice customers affected by a software issue earlier today. We apologize to our customers who were affected,” AT&T said in a statement.

The outage affected the school district in Williamson County with officials notifying parents just before 11 a.m. According to a press release, it prevented all schools and central offices from making or receiving calls. Email was not affected.

It also affected Robertson Count Schools with the district saying it was fixed shortly before 4 p.m.

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) confirmed to News 2 they did not receive any reports about 911 issues due to the outage.
