Deadly Crash on I-65 North

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle during a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 near Brentwood early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes under the Old Hickory Boulevard overpass around 1:30 a.m.

According to police, a man was driving a 2008 Toyota Corolla that had flat tires.

He ran off the road and struck a rock wall near Old Hickory Boulevard. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car.

The victim, who has not been identified but is believed to be of Hispanic descent, died at the scene.

Prior to the crash, a witness reported seeing a car with flat tires speeding and driving recklessly on I-65.

Toxicology testing will be done to see if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
