Free Kundalini Yoga & Meditation with Sukh Anand Kaur (9:30am)

August 6, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Join us for FREE YOGA DAY at Peach & Crane on Sunday, August 6th! Have you always wanted to experience Kundalini Yoga and Meditation? Join us for a FREE class with guest teacher Chris Aven (Sukh Anand Kaur). Chris Aven/Sukh Anand began her study of Kundalini Yoga in 2008 at Yoga West in Los Angeles, the home of Yogi Bhajan in the West. On her journey from volunteer/sevadar to General Manager to certified Kundalini Yoga teacher she was immersed in the culture and teachings of Kundalini Yoga while connecting with the vast community of yogis and great teachers that Yoga West served. It is with deep gratitude and joy that she offers classes to all. Space is limited to 6 students per class — Register NOW to save your spot!

We encourage students to please bring/wear the following to our Kundalini classes:

1.) Headcovering: Kundalini Yoga is traditionally practiced with the head covered. Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Awareness and we intentionally practice to empower our intuition via opening the Crown Chakra and Third Eye. Therefore, if you are sensitive a lot of energy can transfer through the head which can cause headaches afterward. If you own a turban, feel welcome to rock it! 😉 Otherwise, common headcoverings can be a scarf, wide headband or knit hat.

2.) Wearing White: Kundalini Yoga is traditionally practiced wearing clean white, loose-fitting, natural fiber clothing. The reason for the attire is that it better enhances the aura and expands our radiance. Furthermore, if you have typically practiced yoga in tight-fitting Lulu’s you will find quite a difference in the experience of wearing loose-fitting clothing! Kundalini Yoga is a self-transformational experience. We practice this yoga with the eyes closed. Therefore, it is not a fashion show. 🙂 Please feel welcome to explore the experience of Kundalini Yoga by participating in it fully, as it was originally designed and intended. We know not everyone may have access to a full-white outfit initially so we encourage you to do the best you can and come as you are, ALL are welcome.

3.) Specialty yoga mat: You may find that doing Kundalini yoga on a regular thickness yoga mat is a little tougher on the joints. Because we do a lot of dynamic asanas, such as back rolls, cat-cows (on knees and hands), and sit in positions such as rock pose, etc. thicker, pilates-style mats may be more comfortable. Traditionally Kundalini Yoga is practiced on a sheepskin rug. Kundalini Yogis use these at home! So, you’re very welcome to bring the mat you already own or experiment with our supplies in class.
