Our Preschool Story Time is designed for families with children ages 3-5 years old. You are all invited to join us for an half hour of stories, puppets, songs, and finger plays. Learn the alphabet, keep rhythm with scarves and shakers plus learn a few signs in American Sign Language. We’d love to have you join us!
Aside from being a fun way to enjoy the library together, story time engages our young library users in a variety of activities targeting the early literacy skills needed to be ready to read and become active learners in school. You can learn more about the early literacy skills by picking up a handout when you visit our Children’s Department or by visiting https://wcpltn.wordpress.com/?s=early+literacy.
The state of Tennessee has a Ready to Read initiative, http://www.tn.gov/readtobeready/topic/early-literacy-matters-main. We are happy to assist the families of our community in raising readers who are ready to learn with our fun story times.
All library programs are free and open to the public. Learn more about this event or other library program and services by calling the library at 615-595-1243 or visit the library’s web site at http://wcpltn.org.
The library e-newsletter provides subscribers with library news about programs like this and more. Sign up to receive it via email by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: Subscribe_Library_Bytes.
