The Bastiat Society of Nashville – The Project Belle Story

February 27, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Please join us for the Febraury meeting of the Bastiat Society and hear how Nashville-based tech company Project Belle fought the government and won!

Armand Lauzon founded Project Belle when he saw how hard it was for a female family-member to maintain her job as a manicurist after giving birth. The salon where she worked scheduled her for long hours and took a large percentage of her pay. Armand quickly realized that many health and beauty professionals face these same obstacles to earning a good living, and he wanted to make it possible for these service providers to become entrepreneurs who set their own hours and rates of pay. He created Project Belle, which connects professionals to clients who would prefer to receive health and beauty treatments in the comfort of their own home, at work, or at an event. It wasn’t long before competitors took notice and the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology attempted to shut his business down, but Armand took a stand with the help of the Beacon Center and Nashville Attorney Daniel Horowitz. Come find out how a start-up company is taking on unconstitutional government regulations and creating opportunities for hundreds of Tennesseans!
