WCS One of Two TN Districts Named to AP Honor Roll

Williamson County Schools is one of only two public school districts in Tennessee to be named an Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Roll District by the College Board.

WCS was chosen for this honor due to significant gains in AP course work and student performance.

“For the last few years, WCS has really focused on ensuring that our high school students have access to a wide variety of rigorous AP courses,” said Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning and Assessment Tim Gaddis. “Our teachers have challenged our students to excel, and our students have stepped up to that challenge. We are proud to be recognized by the College Board for the outstanding efforts of our students and teachers.”

The Advanced Placement program is a curriculum sponsored by the College Board that offers standardized courses to high school students that are generally recognized to be equivalent to undergraduate courses in college. The courses are often credited with helping students prepare for the rigor of college level coursework.
