Literary Ladies Book Club

Our February book will be Mr. Penumbra’s 24-hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan. Clay, a laid-off tech guy, finally finds a job at a 24 bookstore. Things get strange when he realizes that there’s not a lot of business, but people come in and check books out. Curious, Clay enlists his friends to help him figure out what’s going on.
The March book is Sisters in Law: how Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg went to the Supreme Court and changed the world by Linda Hirshman. The relationship between Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg—Republican and Democrat, Christian and Jew, western rancher’s daughter and Brooklyn girl—transcends party, religion, region, and culture. Strengthened by each other’s presence, these groundbreaking judges, have transformed the Constitution and America itself, making it a more equal place for all women.
The Literary Ladies Book Group meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Board Room of the Main Library in Franklin, except for January and February. New members are always welcome.
