MLK Day of Service Project: Exploring the Cemetery Community

Help us learn more about the Freedmen’s Community, known as Cemetery, that emerged on the battlefield following the Civil War by assisting a team from the Southeast Archeological Center in a surface survey of home, church and farm sites located in the park.

Please pre-register for this event by contacting Ranger Jim at jim_b_lewis@nps.gov. We are aiming to assemble a team of 15-20 people to celebrate #MLKDay through volunteer service. The survey will begin at 10 AM and run through 3 PM with a break for lunch.
