Fairview Middle Boys’ Cross-County Keeps State Championship

Make it two in a row for Fairview Middle School. The boys’ cross-country team has won a state championship for the second consecutive year. FMS student Jose Perez earned the first-place medal.

The team competed in the Tennessee Middle School Athletics Association (TMSAA) tournament on October 7 in Clarksville, Tennessee.

With 39 points, they earned the title of state champions in the Class A category. In addition to Jose, two other FMS students placed individually. Matthew Andrea earned third place and Mason Dowdy placed fourth.

“This group of boys has been a blessing to coach,” said head coach Preston Brooks. “Their goal from the beginning of the season was to repeat as state champions. Anything less would have been unacceptable to this group.”
