Bluebirds and Other Backyard Birds

Come enjoy interesting insights and ask questions with the library about the different birds in our backyards, from Bluebirds to Woodpeckers to our state bird, the Northern Mockingbird. Our bird guide is Polly Rooker, life-long member of the Tennessee Ornithological Society and Watchable Wildlife and Waterfowl Biologist with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA).

Polly says, “Everybody loves birds. They’re a part of our natural ecosystem. They’re pretty. They sing. I think they add a lot to your back yard, and to your life.” Great for adults and children who want to better appreciate nature as near as their back yard.
