On September 26 at 7 pm, a talented group of musicians on a mission will take the stage at the historic Franklin Theatre in support of One Generation Away (One Gen Away), a Nashville based non-profit dedicated to eliminating poverty in America in just one generation.
Now in its third year, the Jammin’ for One Gen Away fundraiser includes NewsChannel 5 anchorSteve Hayslip, returning as emcee. The evening will be headlined by contemporary jazz saxophonistMichael Lington, country soul singer/songwriter James Otto, and The Okies, starring Dave Innis and Paul Gregg of Restless Heart. Together, with featured guests Heath Wright (Ricochet), guitarist Bruce Gaitsch (Peter Cetera, Richard Marx, Madonna), singer Keith Landry (Louisiana Leroux, Lee Greenwood, Toto), bassist Tim Denbo (Mark Schulz, LynnMarie and the Boxhounds), drummer Dan Needham (Michael McDonald, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith), and keyboardist Scott Sheriff (Carrie Underwood, Kenny Loggins, Steven Curtis Chapman), the group will perform some live music, and spend time highlighting the issue of hunger in Middle Tennessee, all while raising much-needed funds for One Generation Away.
